Notes
Every tool carries a history, but some carry a soul. The Parson’s Easel is a portrait of a piece of studio equipment purchased by my mother-in-law from an English parsonage rummage sale many years ago—an object that went on to support my own work for decades. In this painting, I wanted to honor its long journey and quiet endurance, imbuing it with an aura of spirituality. The deep red wing along its frame suggests a guardian presence, celebrating an object that has been both a utilitarian workhorse and a sacred witness to the creative process.
