Notes
A powerful, allegorical exploration of choice and transitions. Dante’s Choice presents a striking architectural threshold: two sets of French doors set against a predominantly warm interior of rich oranges and radiant reds. Through the doors on the left, a hazy, blue room unfolds with no apparent walls, its checkered tile floor fading into an infinite distance. To the right, a bright, welcoming light emanates from a hidden room, offering a stark counterpoint. The composition holds the viewer in a beautiful, tense stillness—a visual representation of purgatorio, where the act of choosing is both an invitation and an existential pause.
