Here is an ethereal figure is glimpsed passing through a mysterious room. She seems to be hiding. Or, at best, evasive. Was she real? Or was that just your imagination?
Sometimes when I paint I think of the artists whose work I admire and perhaps I feel that I owe them a debt of gratitude. Pierre Bonnard and his domestic interiors come to mind when I look at this atmospheric interior painting. Bonnard often placed figures at the edges of the frame to create a sense of life being glimpsed rather than posed.
