Spirit Lake

I gazed at the far side of Spirit Lake where lodgepole pines created a sawtooth pattern against an overcast sky. It was early morning on an unusually cool summer day and it was good to be outdoors, surrounded by nature. The water has a relaxing influence on me and I can sit and watch the effects of wind on the waves for hours.

This is a watercolor painting I made while gazing at the lake. I seem to be drawn to watercolors when I’m at a lake or an ocean. What’s up with that?
