The corner of the neighborhood

I’m thrilled and honored to be one of the artists selected this spring to design a traffic box skin for the City of Boise. This is my first public art commission. The box is located at the corner of Main and 23rd streets. It’s in a neighborhood that has a kind of mixed zoning, with small businesses and used car lots on the main drag (Main) and quiet streets and old houses behind. Melissa and I visited a couple times just recently to get a better feel for the place before I started my design. I submitted 3 concepts and this is the one chosen.
